In some respects statistical analysis has changed radically over the 40 years since the Local Group
was established. Have the central principles of the subject changed that much too? Some reflections
on this theme will be illustrated by examples from veterinary epidemiology, medical statistics,
sociology and physics.
The meeting will be held at Leeds University’s School of Mathematics on Level 8, Mathematics Active
Learning Lab (MALL), starting at 3.30pm, and concluding at 5pm with wine and anniversary cake. Tea
will be available from 3pm in the foyer on Level 9 of the School of Mathematics.
