dear ciara.
as far as i know (and i am no expert) each covariate of no interest will
be modelled in spm in a separate column. i did not understand what you
mean by 40 35 etc for each subject. did each of your subject has a value
in a psychometric score, like a depression score? if so, for each row
(subject) in your design a score should appear in the related row of
your covariate column. this can be done by listing the scores for each
subject (in the exact order as you modelled the subjects in your design)
in a txt. file. this can be loaded during the design modelling by
spm_load.
because you want to include this variable as a covariate of no interest,
the weighting should be 0.
