Two Technical Positions available at Rigaku Europe
As a result of our expanding user base and commitment to a high level of
customer service, we are recruiting additional Scientific Support
Engineers. The successful candidates will join the world’s leading
provider of analytical X-ray equipment on our UK-based service team with
responsibility for installation, service and maintenance of Rigaku
instrumentation. Both positions will involve extensive travel throughout
the UK and continental Europe.
1. Scientific Support Engineer – Macromolecular crystallography systems
Responsibilities include installation, service and maintenance of X-ray
generators, diffractometers, image plate and CCD detectors, associated
X-ray optics, software and cryogenic devices.
Location: Field-based in NE England or Scotland
Essential Qualifications:
Extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic and
mechanical systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A preference will be given to engineers/scientists with hands-on
experience in the maintenance of X-ray systems, familiarity with
high-throughput automated systems, and a broad knowledge of
crystallography and crystallographic instrumentation.
2. Scientific Support Engineer – Automation
Responsibilities include installation, service and maintenance of
automated liquid handling systems, robotics, software and automated
crystal imaging systems.
Location: Based out of our Rigaku Europe office in Sevenoaks, Kent, UK;
Extensive travel to customer sites throughout Europe and occasional
overseas travel to Asia and the US will be required.
Essential Qualifications:
Extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic and
mechanical systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A preference will be given to scientists/engineers experienced in the
use and maintenance of liquid handling instrumentation, automated
crystal imaging systems, and database software. Practical experience
with protein crystallization techniques and strategies is desirable.
