PhD Studentship in Transport Research
Applications are invited for a PhD studentship in the Centre for Transport
Research, Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering,
Trinity College Dublin. The research position is for 3 years, commencing
October 2008. Funding is provided under the National Roads Authority
Doctoral Fellowship Programme.
This research will investigate the value of time used and savings in
travel time using a number of methods including stated and revealed
preference methods, and discrete choice modelling. The outcomes of this
research will be used to calculate a value for travel time saved so that a
value can be placed on the benefits derived by road users for major new
road schemes.
The studentship includes a stipend of €13,000 per annum, plus college fees.
Applicants should have a good honours primary degree (at least 2-1 honour)
in Civil Engineering, Economics, Transport, or other relevant degree.
