Robin -- I hope not. And I think it doesn't have to. If this sort of
thing happened every week, I'd see a problem. But if it happens once
every six months or so, it can blow over fairly quickly.
I moderated, for years, a very very contentious BB for news discussion,
which was one of the few places on the internet that lefties and
righties talked to each other. I actually did have to moderate it fairly
tightly, taking down notes, giving short term suspensions to be people.
But it survived.
