This Conference aims to discuss the state of the art in structures subjected
to earthquakes, including the geophysical aspects, the behaviour of historical
buildings, seismic isolation, retrofitting, base isolation and energy absorption
systems, as well as a wide range of applications and case studies. ERES 2009
will create an atmosphere that is conducive to fruitful interaction and
exchange of ideas as well as the transfer of state-of-the-art information
between engineers, scientists and managers working in industry, universities,
research organisations and government.
