Hi Marie,
We use Google Analytics. To get started, go to
http://www.google.com/analytics/ and create an account. Add your site to
the account within Analytics and it'll give you some JavaScript code which
you need to add to every web page somehow.
If you're using a template-based CMS, it's a question of finding the right
template(s) and pasting the code in. One tip is to paste the code just
before the ending </body> tag so Analytics runs after the page has loaded.
This is because Analytics tends to slow down page loads significantly
otherwise.
If you're using Drupal, the http://drupal.org/project/google_analytics
module does all this for you.
Regards,
James
