Hi Bilkis
Thanks for your feedback. I can confirm that your eyesight is fine and that
Chained Reactions is delivering pixilated versions of the images on flickr.
This wasn't so much a decision taken by ourselves as a fallout of the
development process. From the start we wanted the artwork to be as much of a
full screen experience as possible and commissioned it to be developed to
our visitors most common screen resolution. The images are displaying OK at
their native size when pulled from flickr, but as they move around the 3d
space and get larger they become pixilated. It would be very difficult,
possibly impossible, to deliver the full size images from flickr so this is
a compromise we have had to accept.
In hindsight it might have been better to go for a smaller overall artwork
size, but once committed to the development at full scale it was impossible
within our budget and timescales to make such a fundamental change.
We hope that the evolving nature of the artwork - which uses tags to
randomly select images from our growing flickr collection - and compelling
quality of the audio narratives will nonetheless engage our visitors.
Regards
Martin
