Hi Mira
We use Olympus recorders - we have WS-320M and WS-321M, the latter being
the more recent model. They're about 7cm long and less than 1cm thick,
and weigh next to nothing, so highly portable. Also, they split in half
in the middle to reveal a USB port, so there's no need for any cables.
No removeable card though. Format is WMA - proprietary, but not
marginal.
Very easy to use as well - takes about 1 min to show a teacher how to
use it, and they don't seem to have any trouble with it thereafter.
We've been very happy with them - although the 'stop' button on the
older one has just stopped working (after about 3 years).
They don't come with a neck strap but you can get them as extra.

Subject: [M25-LT-GROUP] suggestions for digital voice recorders
Hello all,
Quick request for recommendations - we would like to buy some digital
voice recorders for presenters. The criteria are:
Excellent sound quality
Built-in mic
Screen
Portability (for pacing presenters) i.e. genuine wearability with a
neckstrap or clip, not just "small enough to fit in a shirt pocket"
Cross-platform compatibility, no marginal proprietary formats Intuitive
navigation Storage on removable card with optional USB
The Edirol R-09HR looked good - but you can't wear. I think this could
be a real problem - do you?
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Bests,
Mira
