The topics sound interesting, but the idea would need to be adapted to make it more affordable, since I can't see many people regularly being willing to pay that sort of amount for an evening training session in their own time, and only people local to a town or city would be likely to come - not from miles away. Hiring a room in a pub for an evening costs about £25 - £40 depending on size, we could take a collection on the night and subsidise the balance from funds if necessary, so we could advertise them as free events - maybe? If the pub served food (like the Rummer in Bath where I hold my self build group meetings) then people can have a meal & a drink while they listen - sort of a supper club.
