MSc in Health Informatics (Distance Learning) programme
The MSc in Health Informatics programme has been completely revised for 2008
with completely new core Modules. A single induction programme in Sheffield
replaces the previous model of Day Schools throughout the year offering
greater flexibility for those working in the health services.
About the course
The MSc in Health Informatics (Distance Learning) programme is global in
scope and brings together students from around the world to provide the
knowledge and skills that will help them to maximise the use of information
and ICTs in their health care sector. It equips students with generic tools
to enable them to respond to future developments in health care and in
information technology while grounding these in the "real world" of current
initiatives in information policy, technology and management.
Students undertake the programme over three years. During the first two
years students study taught modules via distance-learning and in the final
year students undertake their research dissertation.
There will be a 3-day induction programme in Sheffield at the start of the
programme, which all students are required to attend. There will be a
further summer school at the start of Year 3, to prepare students for the
dissertation.
