*** WebGenreWIKI: http://purl.org/net/webgenres ***
Dear All,
the purpose of the WebGenreWIKI is to facilitate the sharing of
information and resources on all aspects of genre, web genre and other
related discourse categories, such as style, register, sentiment, or
authorship.
This wiki has spawn from passionate discussions started at the RANLP
2007 Workshop on genre in Bovorets (http://www.sics.se/use/genre-ws/),
which followed a stimulating CL 2007 Colloquium on webgenre in
Birmingham (http://corpus.leeds.ac.uk/serge/webgenres/colloquium/).
The wiki is still very much under construction. Actually, at the
current stage it is more like a discussion forum than a stabilized
archive. For this reason, you are all invited to visit the new wiki
and to make your own contributions to it. Anybody can edit the text
setting up an account and logging into the wiki. The wiki also
contains a Genre Collection Repository with links to publicly
available genre corpora. You are very welcome to add your genre
collections to this page in order to share them with other researches.
We strongly foster experimental replicability and cross-comparisons to
accelerate advances in genre research.
Many thanks to all those who have enthusiastically participated in the
genre discussions recorded in the wiki.
Please, feel free to send comments and suggestions to the wiki moderators:
