Hi Fay
I think you are not well informed about this.
We have an OS electronic medical record in our practice.
Along with about 400 or more other folks in Canada.
Most of whom could not take a can opener to their computers - nor do
they want to.
They do pay folks for help - on average around $3 (UKP1.50) a day each
- or less.
Not only does it do all our medical record keeping - it also handles the
billing to the govt in Ontario and BC.
Installing it is fun - folks have this notion of great techiness needed
- someone turns up with a server (PC) tucked under an arm and plugs it
into their network, sets up a shortcut one each workstation and it is done.
and cos it runs on Linux, they don't have to show anyone how to reboot
the server....it never needs it.
......we are waiting for an office to forget where they put the server
as a result of never having to go to it :-)
........so please don't perpetuate the myth that you need to be techy to
run OSS - such action produces harm :-)
Cheers
