A dag is technically the matted wool on a sheep's tail. In Australia it
refers to people who don't have a neat, tidy or cultured appearance.
It can also refer to a person who tends to be quite informal. It is not
necessarily a derogatory term in modern usage and Aussies will often use it
as a term of endearment. e.g. You are such a dag.

I think it's one of those terms that can be either a compliment or an
insult depending on how it is said.
In your case it simply means that you are an eccentric Englishwoman.
The crucial thing is whether or not they like you.
