Parallelized BedpostX requires you to have SGE installed. I don't have any
experience installing it on the FSL virtual machine, but you could try the
Linux instructions located here:

Subject: [FSL] bedpostx, WMware and CPU total usage
Hi all,
I am running FSL (FSLvm5_32) on a WMware Player CentOS5 on a
single quad core computer with windows XP Pro.
WMware Player is set to run on all 4 cores.
However, it only uses 25% of all the PC ressources.
No matter how many CPUs I assign to WMware (set affinity in
windows task manager), the total usage of the CPUs is 25%.
In other words, when I change the affinity to only 1 CPU, the
usage of that CPU is 100% while the other 3 are on zero. When I
change the affinity to 2 CPUs, the usage is 50% for 1 CPU and
50% on the other, etc...
Is there a way to make WMware use more than 25% of the PC
ressources? That would help to speed up bedpostx, I guess...
Thanks a lot!
Peace,
Joyce!
