Dear Colleagues,
Today, the Green New Deal Group - a new UK alliance of experts in
energy, the environment and finance launched its first report /A Green
New Deal/. It calls for a co-ordinated response to the ‘triple crunch’
of climate change, high oil prices and the credit crisis. It is the
first attempt to address the nature of broader financial and monetary
reform necessary to create the investment framework needed for the
energy transition to avert dangerous climate change.
The full Green New Deal report is now available here at the *nef* website:

Very best,
Andrew Simms

**Our new book** //Do Good Lives Have to Cost the Earth?//** is now
available from Amazon
<http://www.amazon.co.uk/Good-Lives-Have-Cost-Earth/dp/1845296435> and
all good bookshops

We tend to see climate change as an overwhelmingly daunting threat
requiring impossible sacrifices. But this book shows it's time to
rethink. Read contributions from a unique range of experts and household
names, who share a conviction that living well need not cost the earth. **
