Workshop on
PERVASIVE AWARENESS SYSTEMS: FROM THEORIES TO END-USER DEVELOPMENT
(http://www.idi.ntnu.no/~divitini/nordichi2008/)
Lund, 19 October 2008
in conjunction with NORDICHI2008
We would like to invite you to submit a 3-4 page position paper, to the
NORDICHI workshop for Pervasive Awareness Systems.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers working both
in industry and academia on pervasive awareness systems to discuss the
technological and design challenges as well as the opportunities that
technology brings for the design and use of pervasive awareness systems.
The workshop aims to address issues realted to:
* The theoretical foundations of pervasive awareness systems to
understand better what user-needs are served, how different theories can
support us in understanding and designing pervasive awareness systems,
what risks are related to the use of these technologies
* The middleware and platforms for pervasive awareness applications and
social media together with related prototyping environments/toolkits
* The interaction mechanisms and tools for enabling end-user communities
to create their own awareness systems. In doing so, awareness systems
can be made to fit the idiosyncratic needs of different communities,
relevant to their own particular life-styles, culture and communication
needs.
The workshop is organized by the EU ASTRA project.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Deadline for workshop submissions: 19 August 2008.
Notification of acceptance by: 15 September 2008
Print ready by: 30 September 2008
