This is a new, exciting and challenging post which gives you the opportunity to be involved in developing an Adult Communication and Assistive Technology Service in East Kent for which funding was obtained in April 2008.
You will be responsible for the day to day management of this new service and will work with a Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational therapist and Clinical Technologist. You will work as part of this team to assess clients for high tech communication and assistive technology devices and provide ongoing support and training.
We are looking for a Clinical Scientist with experience in the area of Electronic Assistive Technology, ideally in working with Adults.
You will join the Rehabilitation Engineering Section of Medical Physics. This section comprises of two Clinical scientists and four Clinical Technologists who provide a range of services in East Kent including Special Seating, Posture management, specialised powered chair control and electronic assistive technology.
The post requires that the candidate holds, or is eligible for State Registration, has a higher degree and some experience in research and development.
