Vintage American advertising collection on offer.
The History of Advertising Trust Archive's policy is to collect UK
advertising. The Trust would like to transfer some American material
that is surplus to requirements to another archive, library or
educational body that might find it to be a useful cultural resource.
The material comprises tear sheets from American magazines dating from
the 1920s to the 1960s, although the greatest amount is from the
1950s.It was originally transferred to HAT as part of a larger
collection from Middlesex University in 2006/2007. There are already 6
large archive boxes of material ready for immediate collection and it is
likely that a further four to five may emerge by the autumn after HAT
staff has sifted through some later consignments to remove the UK
material. The collection is free to a good home on the condition that it
can be collected from HAT's premises in Norfolk.
