Dear Trevor,
It is very regrettable that sometimes seemingly unlimited obstacles are
thrown into the path of very well meaning people simply trying to do their bit to
preserve sites. Why official bodies don't involve and encourage active
participation from those such as John (& a great many others obviously), and all
their Orgs.. We have all seen or heard of instances where lack of such
participation has resulted in 'errors' - shall we say. Mind you, something is better
than nothing in some cases possibly.
As to Cwmystwyth, and in the grand scheme of things these days, surely the
funds needed to maintain the site could be found amongst one Govt. body or
another - or at least arranged by same. After all, they would be getting
volunteers for nothing. Oh well, such is the way things go I suppose.
Regards, Bernard
