Hello,
I have a few questions about the new version of TBSS.
In the old version the FA images of all of the subjects were registered to a
target (one of the subject's FA maps) that required the least amount of
warping if all other FA maps were registered to it. This registration was
accomplished using non-linear method described in the TBSS paper. Once
that's done, the target is affine-transformed into the MNI152v standard space.
With the current changes in the TBSS scripts the FA maps are registered to
the FMRIB58_FA, which is a standard space FA image. Are the individual FA
maps registered to this template using the non-linear transform? Is it the
same method as described for the older version of the TBSS?
What was the rationale behind the introduction of FMRIB_58? In the original
version a real FA map was chosen because the average FA maps can be blurry.
Has this problem been solved with FMRIB_58?
Sincerely,
Anastasia
