Ahh thank you Kasper. Apart from anything else in this curious, difficult,
lovely life, I've been following Candice's advice and reading anything and
everything. I've had to reassess my entire practise. And there's so much to
read. Rediscovered Australian poets like Laurie Duggan, and a world of new
Americans. Read the thread between you and David B on contemporary English
poetry. Reading Paul Muldoon obsessively. Enjoying Laurissa's work. But
cannot, for the world, make any work of depth at present. It is as though
the words are alien entities on the page.
Perhaps that is as it should be. I'm moving through the archives of Jacket.
There's work enough in that. Though if there were some words kind enough to
allow me to arrange them one afternoon, I would not be disappointed.
