Chris (or anyone),
Any comments on shifts (or lack thereof) of "scholarly worth" in applied fields (for want of a better term)--like law or design or leisure management or art--compared to fields where there is no "practice" that is separate from "scholarship"?
Should expectations of scholarly standards be the same for academics in academic fields (again, for want of a better phrase) where the only demonstration of mastery is scholarship and for academics in fields where mastery and scholarship are different and often quite separate?
