Hi Carolynne
We have recently also updated health forms for employment within NHS -
we do ask specifically about TB and foreign travel - it may be relevant
in determining if coming in from endemic area. We also ask them to
supply vaccination details/status especially if going to be in EPP
positions.
The TB question was widened due to executive guidelines.
Regards
Brenda

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Pre-employment and HCWs: the 3 questions
I am in the process of reviewing my pre-employment health assesment
procedure for Healthcare Workers. In addtion to the '3 questions' I feel
that the specific questions for nightworkers should be included, where
the
staff will be working nights. This is for baseline and to determine
suitabliity. Also to be included are questions about allergy and
dermatitis. Does anyone ask questions in relation to TB risk? Does
anyone
feel that there is anything else relevant that should be included for
HCWs? Would be good to get some feedback on what any of you do for your
HCWs pre-emp within the NHS or elsewhere.
Thanks
Carolynne Davey
