Hi
I know about this book:
Rowland A. S. Abbott (1989). Vertical Boiler Locomotives. Oakwood Press.
ISBN 0-85361-385-0.
And I seem to recall Mr Abbott also wrote a book on the DeWintons company
itself, though I can't put my hands on the actual title or other details at
the moment. Other than that I think that there are some records in the
Caernarfon Record Office.
From my own knowledge they built pumping machinery for the Oakeley and
Penrhyn Quarries, as well as having a hand in the construction of Hunter
Saws, Incline equipment, both steam and gravity types, as well as the famous
water balances of Penrhyn Quarry.
