Dear All,
Just a short note to let you know that AVPhD "Sound" (4th July 2008,
University of Sunderland) is still accepting registrations (form
pasted below). Unfortunately, our AHRC funding has come to an end, so
this will be your last chance to attend one of our AVPhD sponsored
workshops. Since our beginning three years ago in London, we've
travelled to Dublin, Manchester, Edinburgh and Newport, and we shall
be ending on a bang with Viva Viva! the world's first exhibition of
completed AVPhD's, at the University of Westminster's P3 Gallery,
December '08. Alisa Lebow and I are currently working on avphd.ac.uk
adding material and archiving all the events. Do keep an eye on it
for the latest developments, and please bear with us whilst we sort
out its gremlins (I shall shortly be posting up the transcription of
our last London event AVPhD Fools, where supervisors and examiners
from around the UK discussed the rules, regulations, promises and
pitfalls of AVPhDs - which may be of interest to some of you?). And
finally, I have recently received a call for papers for DocNow "a
conference on the contemporary context and possibilities of the
documentary" hosted by Birkbeck College 10-11 Oct 08, proposals by Aug
15th, call pasted below. That's it for now.
Best wishes
Zemirah Moffat
