One day ALPSP Seminar/workshop in association with COPE
Ensuring Research Integrity in Biomedical Publishing
Date: Wednesday 22 October, 2008
Venue: Mayfair Conference Centre, 17 Connaught Place, London, W2 2EL
Chairs: Sabine Kleinert, Senior Executive Editor, The Lancet
Jeremy Theobald, Executive Editor, Emerging Health Threats Forum
The goal of this workshop is to provide delegates with a 'how to...' guide
to ensure the integrity of the research they publish. During the day
speakers will cover the key issues that biological, biomedical, and clinical
journals should consider in order to be ethically robust. In addition,
speakers will address the process of implementing such policies, including
how to decide if adopting a specific policy is right for your journal, how
to do it, what the implications are, and how to communicate your policies to
your authors and readers. This workshop will not be covering publication
misconduct as these are addressed by COPE.
The day is aimed at the Academic Editors of peer-reviewed scientific
journals and Managing Editors (Journal Editors, Executive Editors) and
Editorial Directors of such journals or groups of journals at publishing
houses.
