Big Lottery Fund programme briefing

 

Date: Tuesday 8th July, 2008, 10.00am to 12.00pm

Who should come? Heads of library service; museum and/or archive managers

 

SPACES ARE VERY LIMITED - PLACES WILL BE BOOKED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.

 

What is the latest news from the Big lottery Fund? Which funding programmes might be appropriate for your organisation? What sort of projects might be appropriate? Russell Darbon, Regional Policy & Partnership Manager, London Region, will be speaking at a briefing session organised by MLA London specifically for London's museums, libraries and archives.

 

The session will include details on the following funding programmes:

 

·         myplace, a major £190m funding programme that BIG is delivering on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) to support organisations in England with the "vision and drive to work with young people" in order to "deliver world class youth facilities driven by the active participation of young people and their view and needs".

 

·         Awards for All is supported by the Arts Council England, the Big Lottery Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England. Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are awarded for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.

 

Light refreshments will be provided.
