Dear Rachel,
Your enquiry regarding inter-site loan procedure has been passed on to me as I am responsible for the inter-site loan operation here at the Templeman library.
Basically, we have three sites that take part in the function - Canterbury, Tonbridge University (TU) and the Drill Hall Library - Universities at Medway (DH). Students at DH and TU request books from Canterbury via the administrator at their site and students here at Canterbury can request books from DH or TU via the administrator here. Students can only request items shown on the catalogue and they fill in a form providing their details and the book details. Books are then requested from the other site, by the administrator, via email and distributed by a daily, round-robin van service.
I keep statistics of all the movements between the three sites on an excel spreadsheet. The information logged here includes author, title, class mark, details of the requestor, site details and dates (both requested and sent/received). Stats are disseminated on a termly basis to the three sites and to our Academic Liaison department.
I hope this is useful to you. I'll be pleased to provide any further information should you require it.
Regards
Stu
