Dear colleagues,
As the end of the academic year has arrived, I expect that libraries
will be planning their annual stock weeding over the summer holiday. I
just wanted to let you know that we offer a free solution to help
libraries manage their stock levels.
Our service provides an opportunity for libraries to clear their
shelves of unwanted books at no charge and at the same time reducing
environmental damage. We will come to your library and collect books
that you have withdrawn from your shelves. The aim of Phatpocket Ltd
is to ease the financial burden faced by students by providing them
with an alternative, low-cost source of textbooks. 25p from every used
book we sell is donated to the African Children's Educational Trust
(www.a-cet.org).
We are currently helping a number of FE and HE institutions in the UK,
including Imperial College and the London School of Economics, to
manage their stock levels and would be happy to hear from other
libraries interested in using our service. Please feel free to forward
this email to any colleagues not on this list who might also benefit
from our service.
Please contact me at the details below if you have any further questions
or would like to discuss how we might be able to help you.
Kind regards,
Scott Sherman
