PPRG Conference Chancellors Hotel, Manchester
November 6 8th 2008
How Green is my Library?
The programme is outlined below but full details and a booking form can be
found at:
www.cilip.org.uk/pprg
Carbon emissions, rising costs of energy and other commodities, together
with waste disposal, are forcing businesses and organisations to look at
ways to reduce excessive physical waste and the demand for natural
resources. Libraries have a great role to play in this campaign. In fact
they can be considered as leaders in the field as they promote a single
point of access to the world information and are well positioned to
promote and distribute information relating to green issues.
Libraries across all sectors are looking at ways to reduce their carbon
footprints, write green policies, build and design to green principles,
reduce waste and think about sustainable procurement. How Green is my
Library? will explore ways in which we can work towards providing
services and facilities that are built on sound environmental business
principles through formal presentations, participation and networking.

Throughout the programme there will be opportunities for discussion and
participation in workshops.
