Dear Colleague
There are still some spaces available on the following workshops that Netskills are running at Newcastle University in July:
1. Writing for the Web, 8th July
-----------------------------------------------------
The ability to write and re-purpose content for the web is an important skill. Visitors can abandon your site at the click of a button if they are not enticed by what you have written. This workshop will explore a range of proven practical techniques that you will be able to take away and apply directly to your own web site authoring.
2. Dreamweaver: The Essentials, 9th – 10th July
-----------------------------------------------------
Dreamweaver is a popular software package incorporating tools for web page creation and web site control and management.
This 2-day workshop delivers an essential guide to the core features for the creation, formatting, management and updating of web page content.
3. Fundamentals of Web Design & Development, 23rd – 25th July
-----------------------------------------------------
Fundamentals of Web Design and Development combines intensive teaching with practical work, discussion and question and answer sessions. You will be able to develop and practice your new skills, before using them to gain a recognised professional qualification.
The course fee includes registration on the Netskills/BTEC Web Development Certificate, as part of our accredited Professional Development Programme.
You will also receive a comprehensive pack of in-depth practical material to take away and use as you work towards your qualification.
4. Programming for Web Developers, 30th July
-----------------------------------------------------
Now you can finally get to grips with the fundamentals of web programming and add exciting, dynamic functionality to your web site. Having picked up the skills required to present web content using HTML and CSS, many developers find the move towards incorporating programming technologies within their web sites more challenging. This new workshop will explain the core web programming concepts and languages that you will need - to help you make that move with confidence!
5. PHP: Primed & Ready, 31st July
-----------------------------------------------------
Get to grips with the fundamentals of PHP, perhaps the most popular server scripting language in use today. PHP allows web developers to create fast, dynamic web applications that can interact with HTML forms, databases, XML documents, mail servers and much more. This workshop will guide you through the main features of the PHP environment and enable you to start building your own dynamic web applications.
