GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY IN ARCHAEOLOGICAL FIELD EVALUATION, 2nd EDITION
We are pleased, at long last, to be able to announce the publication of
our revised guidance on Geophysical Survey in Archaeological Field
Evaluation. Thirteen years have passed since the first edition was
published and we have been increasingly conscious of the need for a
follow-up that takes account of the significant changes in practice,
procedure, instrumentation and techniques that have taken place since
1995. We do hope that we have done justice to these developments and
that the new guidance is helpful. In making it so we would like to
acknowledge very warmly all the help we have had over the years from
friends and colleagues with whom we have shared discussions; and we are
particularly thankful to those who commented on our initial drafts.
A PDF version of the new guidance document is now available on the
internet in the English Heritage Guidance section of the HELM WWW site
(under 'G' for 'geophysical'):
