On behalf of the Environmental and Industrial Geophysics Group (EIGG), we cordially invite you to present your research at a meeting to be held in BGS, Keyworth, Nottingham on Wednesday 20th August 2008.
Each year, the EIGG of the Geological Society holds a postgraduate symposium to encourage young geoscientists to talk about their PhD or MSc research. The meeting is designed to be informal and interactive but will require speakers to give a Powerpoint or Poster presentation and provide a brief abstract. This is your unique opportunity to meet the UK near-surface geophysical community and to raise your personal profile and that of your Department!
This year's symposium will include a keynote lecture by Prof Andrew Binley, Head of the Department of Environmental Science at Lancaster University, entitled:
"Hydrogeophysics: Current trends and future directions".
Please provide the following information:
Abstracts: maximum of one A4 page, including figures and references.
Presentation format: indicate preference for oral paper or poster.
The meeting is free to all members of the Geological Society. Speakers/presenters do not pay and generous cash prizes are awarded to the best papers (oral and poster categories) up to £250.
Please circulate this invitation to interested parties. We look forward to seeing you in Nottingham!
