September, from 16 thru 18 of 2008

''Yesterday, today and tomorrow: Plurality of sights in a common path.''
CIANTEC'08, on this second edition, is an international conference with
focus upon art, new technologies and communication, which is becoming an
event of note regarding the discussion of theoretical and practical research
under its ideals.

The theme of CIANTEC' 08 follows the previous edition proposal and is still
for greater coverage. Thinking about the possibility of a future that begins
today to be outlined, it is vital never to forget the contribution of what
has happened, of what it was once. Thus, not only the proposals for the next
time are important, but also what has already been proposed, designed and
created is reflected now in the contemporary moment.

The plurality of sights is today, more than a reality, a necessity. To
recognize the existence of several possibilities means openness and ability
to overcome all the constraints that imposes restrictions over innovation,
over thought and action, over the creativity and creation.

The path of search and completion of knowledge is a common path, which
crosses across all civilizations, all societies, all cultures, all
disciplines and all of us. Point of departure of transdisciplinarity, the
communion in the sharing of ideas and knowledge is a guarantee of constant
evolution.

Walking then the horizontality of communications, CIANTEC '08 also houses
SIENTEC - International Seminar on Education and New Technologies - and the
I Audiovisual Exhibition. The CIANTEC is open to participation and invites
everyone to this encounter of ideas and knowledge.

This year the Presbiterian University Mackenzie houses the congress. For
further information access the url - www.ciantec.net

WORKGROUPS
Production and Circulation of Art - The actual concern with doing so should
have equal importance in its medium and its distribution. Quite apart from
creating, the importance lies in its process, its role, its subject, its
"corpus". The support now extends to language going beyond the means and
there is a merger of media, creating new forms of interaction and thought.

Society, Culture and Art - Society and culture are two aspects on which all
of creation and artistic production are based on. Every society, every
culture, explore different forms of expression, and demonstrate its main
characteristics linking directly with the contemporary moment. The
transdisciplinarity extends to these areas, which increasingly are calling
for more eyes, and looking for several new directions. Art also reflects the
ability to go further beyond, bringing itself the essence of the
transdisciplinary thought.

Communication and New Media - The ways of communicating were subject to
changes over time. With the introduction of new media, there are new roles
for those involved in the communication process. The aesthetics Ffollows the
whole evolution, dictating new languages, new media and new assessments.
Arts migrated to unrestricted levels placing the seventh art the new
beginning.
