INTERSECTIONS: Feminist & Queer Geographies
7th _ 8th July, 2008.
School of Geography, University of Leeds.
An interdisciplinary conference jointly organised and sponsored by the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers') Women and Geography Study Group (WGSG) and Space, Sexualities and Queer Working Group (SSQWG).
Full programme now announced. Please see the conference website for details. http://www.geog.leeds.ac.uk/conferences/intersections/ <http://www.geog.leeds.ac.uk/conferences/intersections/>
There has been surprisingly little explicit interaction between feminist and queer geographies, despite a number of shared concerns. This conference will provide a space for productive exchanges between feminist and queer geographers, as well as other researchers interested in questions of feminism, queer theory, and spatiality. The conference will explore points of both intersection and disjuncture between queer and feminist theories and geographies.
Registration: We have a very limited number of spaces left so advise people to return their application forms asap. Registration <http://www.geog.leeds.ac.uk/conferences/intersections/registration.doc> : £50 waged; £25 postgraduates and unwaged (includes refreshments, lunches and wine reception). Please email [log in to unmask] if you have any queries.
