APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING
Dear all,
There are still a few places available at the ESRC seminar ' Changing
Cultures of Competitiveness: Global Production and Labour Relations' ,
to be held at the University of Manchester, Wednesday 9th of July 2008.
This seminar explores the changing global landscape of competitiveness
in production and labour relations. 'Roll-out neoliberalism' (Tickell
& Peck 2003; Coe et al., 2006; Ward 2005; Habermas 1999) is pursued to
promote flexibility but meets growing resistance to the uneven and
unequal social and spatial development that results from standard
forms of economic competition (Hale & White 2005; Mittelman 2000).
Also discusses, therefore, the prospects for changing cultures of
competitiveness in firms and labour relations.
For more information on the full seminar programme and the ESRC
seminar series please go to

Attendance at the seminar is free. Places are limited, however, so
please contact [log in to unmask] to reserve your place as
soon as possible. Travel grants are available for UK postgraduate
participants and practitioners.
