I just tried on a data set here and it worked ok. So in particular I
could pick peaks in the first plane, and I suspect this not happening for
you (rather than the fitting routine) is the root of the problem you have.
I think that there might have been a bug along these lines awhile back
(but see below), so is your release up-to-date? If you select a peak in
plane 2 (say) and bring up the Peak Selection dialog (for example, via the
's' shortcut) then does the "Shift F3" value say 2.000?
I've now tried it both on a copy of the up-to-date server code and also on
the non-updated 1.0.15 release and they both worked. So my recollection
above might be wrong.
(And I've just noticed another bug whereby my project started up showing
plane 10 but the plane selector was indicating it was plane 1.)
