Dear All,
I just wanted to let people know about Chris Goode's new show, an
inside-out adaptation of Chekhov's Three Sisters. It opened tonight.
Hence this email.
Best,
Sam
About
...Sisters
The winner of the Gate Headlong New Directions Award 2008: a new
interpretation of Chekhov’s Three Sisters. Chekhov’s masterpiece of
loss and longing, inertia and the impossibility of escape is
deconstructed and re-imagined in this seductive theatrical
experiment. Six actors explore the events and concerns of the
original through a series of live interventions, out of which will
arise a different performance every night.
“British Theatre’s greatest maverick talent” – the Guardian on Chris
Goode, whose work includes Longwave (Lyric Hammersmith), and Speed
Death of a Radiant Child (Drum Theatre Plymouth). Goode's acclaimed
devised and site-specific work has toured Britain for a decade but …
Sisters is his first live experiment with a classic text.
