Brief Book Review: The Working Back, a System View
Everything that you always wanted to know about back injuries, from causes to remedies and understanding to assessment, is all gathered in this 309 page book authored by one of the prominent ergonomics experts in the field. The book provides an extensive review of all researches on back pain and back injuries, helping readers understand how much we know and don't know about this topic. It is something, I should say, almost everybody suffers from to some degree or knows someone who is affected by it. The book "is different in that it is concerned with the way in which back pain can be initiated and considers the factors that are within our control to minimize the risk of an initial or recurring back problem due to work-related factors". All illustrations, charts, and tables make the content easy to understand. The Working Back, a System View is a must have book for anybody who is involved with evaluation, prevention, or research in this area. Several chapters of this book might even be very useful to those who suffer from back pain or injuries. It is quite easy to understand and educate people with back pain about their pain or injuries from scientific point of view.
