Having just caught up with this correspondence can I announce that at
least one archivist was 'noticed'
Robert Bearman, who retired last year after many years,latterly as Head of
Archives and Local Studies,at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust was awarded
the MBE for services to heritage. In addition to heading a small but
perfectly formed service, which has full TNA approval, and achieving
deisgnation for elements of the collections, Bob was active on the RAF and
in other aspects of archives, local history and conservation. He continues
to serve as Editor of 'Warwickshire History' and General Editor of the
Dugdale Society'
