The Archives Service of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) -
based in Geneva, Switzerland - seeks a qualified records manager to assist
in developing a functions-based corporate file classification scheme for
the governance and administrative areas of the organization. The scheme
will apply to records in all formats (paper and electronic). It will be
developed in conjunction with a corporate project to develop and implement
an EDRMS (using Documentum) in the governance and administrative areas of
the organization.
This is a 5-month project, to begin immediately. The file plan for the
governance, management and external relations areas must be delivered by
the end of August 2008.
Qualifications:
Experience in the development and maintenance of functions-based file
classification schemes
Knowledge of ISO 15489, Information and documentation – Records management
Strong analytical skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills including verbal, written (including report
writing) and presentation skills in English or French
Ability to make decisions under pressure
Ability to work on own initiative, managing competing demands and deliver
work to tight deadlines
Knowledge of implementing file classification schemes in EDRM systems
would be an advantage.
