The School for Health, University of Bath, is currently seeking an applied
statistician or epidemiologist to join the University's expanding cross
faculty tobacco control research group, part of the newly formed UK Centre
for Tobacco Control Studies. You will be the lead researcher on an exciting
project, funded by the Department of Health and the Health Foundation, which
aims to evaluate the impact of smokefree legislation (SFL) on health and
smoking attitudes, knowledge and behaviour using secondary datasets. The
project is being conducted jointly by the University of Bath and the
Association of Public Health Observatories. You will be highly motivated
with extensive experience in using STATA (and other statistical packages) to
collate and analyse large datasets. You will be experienced in regression
and time series analyses as well as other techniques appropriate to the
analysis of large datasets, able to work independently to produce high
quality analyses and have a proven track record of peer reviewed
publications (or equivalent) commensurate with your stage of career. You
must also be able to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary
team. In addition to the routine application procedure you are also
requested to submit a copy of your curriculum vitae and copies of two of
your recent and most relevant publications (where available). Informal
enquiries are welcomed by Cathy Flower, the tobacco control research
administrator ([log in to unmask], 01225 384159)
