Thanks Jane and everyone else - this has been really helpful and I have
forwarded your emails to my colleague who is dealing with this.
I understand that to provide additional manoeuvring space is likely to be
unreasonable, as it would reduce space for everyone else, but I think this
could easily have been justified in an access statement - my main issue is
the wholesale approach the kitchen designer has taken in her email, and
the assumption she seems to have made that all disabled people are either
in wheelchairs or are visually impaired. She has refused point blank to
consider making any adjustments, based on this assumption.
