A 55 y.o. man with type 2 DM is clinically unwell. His HbA1c results (ion
exchange) are persistently borderline high while his lab glucose results
show moderate to poor control. The results have been checked on a
boronate affinity column and are similar. He doesn't have a high red cell
turnover. Is there any obvious explanation and can anyone suggest a lab
which still offers a fructosamine assay.
20/5/08, G 12.9 mmol/l, HbA1c 6.4, 03/01/08 10.7, 5.9, 07/06/07 11.9,
6.5, 07/11/06 11.9, 6.5.
