re: email problems- this has happened before, and quite often with Yahoo!
users it seems- have you tried "reply all" instead of "reply to" ?
failing that, you'll maybe have to copy and paste the address into the "to"
line- it is a pain, but not the fault of the JISCMAIL server, which works
well for the majority of users, it seems
re: academic angles, if something can be phrased academically then please do
start the relevant thread- we have had in the past some threads about
current research on Masonry, research on healing rituals (I've done some of
that myself) etc
however, some of it sounds like it may not fit academic enquiry at all,
however interesting it may be (one early submission of an article to the JSM
itself was about Tarot cards and a causal link from certain trumps to the
downfall of Richard Nixon, the death of Harry Houdini and the demise of
someone else who's name escapes me right now- a fascinating idea, but as
academic as some of the ranting posts in the last few days, and it was
nothing we could ever have published... we let the author down as easily as
we could)
which is a shame, but that's what the list (and Journal) remit is... there
are other lists that might suit that material better, and it is important to
remember that we are not the entire internet. I've got some great curry
recipes, which have indeed been eaten in person by some of the members on
this list, but it doesn't mean I could legitimately post the recipes here
