Interesting near-parallel experiences. I have never cared much for
scifi and even managed to resist writers like Heinlein. ONE book got to
me, and that only because I happened to see a public TV presentation
first: Ursula Le Guin's *The Lathe of Heaven*, which enthralled me with
the really frightening idea of affective dreaming. A bit like Stephen
King's telekenesis in *Carrie* but harder to predict and control, and
therefore all the more frightening.
