I come to this belatedly having been away.
If this man is offering fakes as genuine, it is a crime and a matter for the
police or trading standards.
If he is exchanging fakes for genuine items under false pretences, the same
applies.
On the other hand, the accusations (if they cannot be proved) are either
libel or slander, and make the person who made the claims (as author) and
the list (as publisher) liable to be sued for defamation. I hope this
string can therefore be closed, if not actually deleted. (However, I am not
the list-owner)

As with any sale, be it on e-bay or at a memorabilia fair, it is
really 'buyer beware'. The 'Indian' lamps are probably not 'fakes' as
such, they are perhaps the lamps produced for their coal industry and
still manufactured there, rather than some imitation produced for display.
I would rather not see the list dragged into a dispute over the
origins of such memorabilia.
