As part of their regional workshop programme Netskills are delivering the following workshops at Newcastle University in June:
1. Podcasting: A Practical Guide, 10th June

This workshop provides a practical guide to the planning and production of effective podcasts that will engage listeners. Participants will have the opportunity to evaluate a range of podcasts, as well as record, edit and publish their own.
2. Blogs, Wikis & Social Networking, 11th June
-----------------------------------------------------
This practical workshop aims to get beyond the hype and show what blogs, wikis and other social software tools can do for you, whether you are a publisher or consumer of web-based information.
3. Nvivo 7 – Software for Qualitative Data Analysis, 12th June
-----------------------------------------------------
This workshop will focus on introducing the primary tools available through NVivo 7 which can assist qualitative researchers in managing and analysing data.
4. Project Management for the Education Sector, 12th June
-----------------------------------------------------
Introduces a project management methodology specifically tailored to the needs of the education sector. Caters for both beginners and experienced project managers.
5. Dynamic Presentations for Interactive Learning, 13th June
-----------------------------------------------------
Explore the possibilities provided by interactive whiteboards and audience response systems. Investigate their pedagogic and curricular implications, gain a grounding in their main features and acquire practical experience in using them.
6. Accessibility, Usability & Your Web Site, 17th June

Understanding the different ways that people interact the web is the key to being able to provide a better online experience for everyone - but there is still a tendency for developers to focus on solutions for users with visual impairment. This workshop will introduce a more holistic approach to making accessible, usable web content and key evaluation techniques that you can use on your own (and other people's) web sites.
7. CSS: A Complete Web Style Toolkit, 18th June

This workshop and offers a complete, practical guide to the use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to deliver professional-looking, accessible and cost-effective web content. If you are familiar with the basics of HTML and are now looking to enhance the presentation of your web pages (or perhaps unravel the work of a previous developer!) you will leave equipped with a practical understanding of the most useful tools that CSS puts at your disposal.
