Hi Stephen
The Eduserv Foundation streamed live from the recent Symposium
(http://www.eduserv.org.uk/foundation/symposium/2008) using a company
they'd worked with before. I don't know the name, but I'll find out from
Andy Powell (if he doesn't reply first) and email it to you.
In my past life at the Science Museum, we used a company called Groovy
Gecko (http://www.groovygecko.com/) for all the Dana Centre
live-streamed events (http://www.danacentre.org.uk/).
If you're looking for lighter-weight and cheaper (free) solutions you
could consider Ustream (http://www.ustream.tv/) or Mogulus
(http://www.mogulus.com/) - but for these you'd probably get no SLA etc.
Cheers
Mike

Subject: Live web video streaming
Folks,
Has anyone - any UK university or college - delivered a live stream of a
public lecture/event via the web? I'd be interested to know who's done
this and what technologies were used. We're about to do our first, using
Flash/FMS.
Stephen...
